Trellising Solutions > VEE-POST The VEE-POST is a high strength hot dipped galvanized steel vineyard intermediate. Design Designed by vignerons for vignerons this roll formed and pre-punched post with slots to capture and secure your vineyard wire offers great resilience and wire retention. There are no nails, clips, staples or hammer required. Less fiddling, labour and time to install. Relocating Wires Relocating your foliage wires up or down is a simple task - by slightly twisting the wire from horizontal, one can exit the wire from its original slot and re-house the wire equally simply to its new location quickly and effectively. The slot on the post is so positioned to afford maximum security of the wire and prevent potential damage by mechanical harvesters or vineyard equipment. Strength The VEE-POST has a great memory, ‘born’ of its inherent flexibility within the high strength steel the post has been produced from. As is the case with all Tristar vineyard and/or fencing intermediates, VEE-POST has a lanolin solution applied during manufacture. This solution (we call LLP) will stay on the post throughout its life and provide additional protection, particularly to the pre punched holes where previously the sacrificial nature of zinc was relied upon to protect the post. Now with LLP we don’t believe there has been any body born yet who will see corrosion on our posts. VEE-POST can be used separately from or together with, the stronger RAMSHEAD intermediate, in a vineyard application. Spacing Generally, but depending upon such considerations as crop e.g. sav’ or merlot, row length, canopy height and wind breaks etc, a ratio of 3 or 4 VEE-POSTS to 1 RAMSHEAD at a spacing of 7.2 metres is most desirable. We invite you to discuss your particular needs with us before settling on the best system for your block. While we prefer to see some RAMSHEADS on most blocks, there are some blocks more than adequately served by VEE-POSTS alone. We believe a ‘horses for courses’ rule should apply!
