Testimonials > Trellising Solutions

R.C. Macdonald Trellising Solutions are successfully used in vineyards throughout New Zealand.

Below are comments from some of those users who are happy to talk about and show VEE-POST and RAMSHEAD vineyard intermediates ‘at work’.

There are also many ‘boutique’ vineyards who are equally happy to give opinion and comment on our posts. If you seek one of these in a lesser known wine growing area, contact us and we will advise you of their location.

We offer all potential buyers a promotional video and/or CD Rom to further emphasis the ease, speed and performance of our posts.

After the ‘storm from’ hell February 2004...
“Yeah we lost some of your posts - about 40 and 10 times that number of wooden ones!”
- John Arlidge - Morton Estate

“Not only have we been successful in establishing an ‘organic’ vineyard right from the conception point, but we have also done so in an extremely cost effective manner. The steel posts have allowed us the possibilities to provide a trellis free of Copper Chrome Arsenic, which we hope will provide us access to markets that are barred from others, with our resulting wine.

The greatest thing of joy for me was all those that had worked with the establishment of the trellis, were greatly sceptical of our choices in material. Halfway through the driving of the posts, all three of the contract groups associated with our vineyard establishment had come to me and said that they were thrilled with the results of the posts. By the end of the project we had a beautiful looking vineyard and several signs on the fence by the road, courtesy of the contractors, all claiming an involvement of the vineyards establishment. I realised that they all felt proud enough to put their individual names behind the RAMSHEAD and VEE-POST, and so were we.”
- Tim Morrison-Deaker - Lochar Vineyard

“I thank you for your letter and the points you have raised - and I do not take them as a criticism but see them as a positive follow up which is not very often seen in today’s ‘modern’ commercial world.”
- Hamish Bassett - Bassett Vineyard

“We have just finished harvesting two blocks of your steel posts. Surprise surprise no broken ones and all the berries picked around them as well just as a bonus.”
- John Arlidge - Morton Estate

They have pre-cut slots, so adding and positioning the wires was a ‘breeze’. He rates their aesthetic value highly and says there is an environmental benefit to metal posts “because they have longevity as well as inert material in their favour”. “I think we’ll see more and more of these posts as time goes by and as people become used to them, see what they are best suited to, how much they save and how long they last. I am pleased we are part of that future.”
- Gerald Hope, Grovetown Vineyard. Marlborough Express 1/11/02
